Caught up with it last night - I have a question for the stream, i'll ask at the time too.
So interestingly I watched Psychology in Seattle cover this a bit, and Kirk brings up the point that Sadistic Personality Disorder can be somewhat useful to look at despite it being a defunct diagnosis.
I've seen things discussed like psychopathy - and I can defo see that angle, any remorse she has is mainly around her own situation and the consequences of how her actions have/will impact her as opposed to much consideration for her victims. But, I found her expressions sincere (to her, not that they were appropriate), I didn't see the flat affect, she did defo have that thing where what she was saying wasn't emotionally appropriate - that uncanny valley feeling psychopaths give off.
I'm just curious as to what you both think may be going on clinically, because this is a very specific and jarring pattern of behaviour - it doesn't feel like this was a blip in her mental health, it felt like something inherent to her behaviour.
Omg I am so excited, I kept thinking of you both while I was watching the mom speak, she almost had a half smile of delight throughout and it was so shocking to me!
Can't wait for this. I've been intentionally ignoring this case so I can see what Paul says.
Interested to hear Paul answer your question Wade. You might not fit all of it in the chat box though!
And how have you got crowns next to your name!?
